Shawn Ray is skipping this year's Olympia to concentrate on the task at hand: impregnating his wife, Kristie. "It wasn't something I was planning, but after we got married [on April 4th], we began talking about having a family," explained Ray in mid-July. "I can't get into my Olympia prep and try to start a family." Some IFBB judges may think there's already plenty of whining coming from the Ray hacienda, but we're sure everyone in the sport hopes it all works out for the newlyweds. Shawn plans to resume his career at the Ironman Pro Invitational in early 2004. "The spring shows in early 2004 would be a nice way to celebrate the birth of my new kid," he said.
