ERNIE TAYLOR'S OLYMPIA PREDICTION

Hi Ernie,

Do you think Ronnie Coleman can beat Lee Haney's Mr. Olympia record? It seems as though Coleman has been The Champ for ages, but he would still have a tremendous battle on his hands to overtake Haney's remarkable Mr. Olympia record.
I would be interested in your take on this.

Regards,
George Thompson

Hi George,

Top question, mate. Ronnie now has six Mr. O titles under his belt, which he has won pretty easily and personally, I don't feel that there is anyone even close to taking the title from him. Last year, at the 2003 Mr. O, he made even more extraordinary gains, and no other bodybuilder came close.
In my opinion, Jay Cutler and Dexter Jackson along with Chris Cormier are the only three that have any remote chance of beating Ronnie. Realistically, I doubt if this will happen.
Seriously speaking however, if Chris Cormier concentrates 110% on this show he could take 2nd place, and if Jay Cutler is a touch off, then Dexter might make 2nd place. (Dexter always comes in top shape.) Günter and Dennis will probably battle it out for 5th place, while Markus Rühl could squeeze himself into the top six if he plays his cards right.
Regardless of this, we all know who number one will be. The real battle, as far as I'm concerned, will be between Jackson, Cormier and Cutler.
As for beating Lee Haney's record, yes, I honestly believe that Ronnie can do it while he is making these phenomenal gains, as long as he continues to stay healthy.
Anyway, here's my top ten prediction.
1. Ronnie Coleman
2. Jay Cutler
3. Dexter Jackson
4. Chris Cormier
5. Dennis James
6. Günter Schlierkamp
7. Markus Rühl
8. Lee Priest
9. Darrem Charles
10. Kris Dim

All the best,
ET

Ernie
