U-Phorm celebrated its second season hosting Musclemania’s Fitness Britain Championships at the Alban Arena with a world class line-up of natural bodybuilders and fitness athletes on stage! Musclemania England HW Champ Roger Snipes took home the Britain HW and Overall title to become the newest Musclemania Pro and now one of the most photographed athletes in British natural bodybuilding. MEM Gym Boys founder Derrick Twum presented an all around package of mass, definition, and complete command of the stage for the Open Middleweight title. Rick Waters in the Masters class gave his usual 100% and showed all the newcomers how a seasoned athlete performs, while teen Model Britain competitors Mathew Vose from Leeds and Chloe Scrivener from Basildon gave hope for the future of the sport with dreams of becoming a champion in years to come.
Nyisha Jordan showed how muscles can be sexy during the show down with Renata Sulekaite. Both ladies were well conditioned and each presented a unique package of beautiful lines and feminine muscularity, but Nyisha was the head judge’s favourite, which broke the tie at the final face-off.
Brenda Mhembere surprised everyone with incredible poise and stage presence that brought her a 1st place victory in the Miss Bikini tall class, while glowing natural beauty Emma Burrows came 2nd in the short class. But Sian Toal was the crowd favourite with a completely new and improved look! In a clever last minute adjustment of choreography, she enlisted the support of MEM Gym Boys Derrick and Zim to escort her on stage, which in part earned her the Model Britain and Miss Bikini Overall titles.
Caribbean Island native Duquaine Brooks will be sorely missed in 2012. After winning the Model England Championships, he took home a 1st place victory in the Britain Finals as well, albeit sadly for the last time with an education Visa that is now finished. But with the fitness model scene in Britain growing faster every year, athletes like Britain’s Next Top Model Matt Dunford, PhD sponsored athlete and crowd favourite Tony Pang - and rugged Gillette spokesman Ben Noy will be ones to look out for!
Paramedic by day, Emmalouise is “sexy and she knows it” according to the new Active Channel commercial. One of the most anticipated performances of the evening was Emmalouise’s fitness routine. Having improved at every show, she’s able to combine a high level of technical gymnastics competence with her own style - and a personality that’s sweeter than candy to match!
Once again, crowd favourites Escape Reality defied gravity alongside fitness dramatics from the MEM Gym Boys and their message of re-shaping minds and bodies while helping to eliminate the onset of knife and gun crime, obesity, and the growing gang culture that is plaguing our urban communities today. Escape Reality will be joining Roger Snipes, Sian Toal, and other top Britain competitors at Miami’s Fitness Universe this coming June 15-16th (LIVE broadcast on www.fitnessuniverseweekend.com) and the new Fitness Atlantis by the sea at Felixstowe’s Spa Pavilion Theatre on Sept 2nd 2012.
